Ondo Finance Launches Tokenized US Treasury Fund (USDY) on SEI Blockchain

Ondo Finance has unveiled USDY, the first tokenized US Treasury product on the SEI blockchain. This institutional-grade offering combines short-term Treasuries and bank deposits in a yield-bearing format, bridging traditional finance with decentralized ecosystems.

The integration with Sei's exchange-focused infrastructure marks a strategic advancement for real-world asset tokenization. USDY enables fractional ownership of government bonds, historically a safe-haven asset class, while providing native compatibility with DeFi applications.

"This brings institutional-grade onchain yield to Sei users for the first time," stated Ondo's announcement. The MOVE signals growing convergence between traditional capital markets and blockchain networks, with SEI positioned as a hub for tokenized financial instruments.
